Hostel

There are 62 spacious hostel units, each with en suite, and there is a section for dementia specific low care. There is a relaxed home like atmosphere. Respite services are available for short term care, both in low and high care, as well as dementia specific. These rooms must be booked with our Hostel Care Co-ordinator.

Care is provided by a dedicated team of qualified and experienced people who provide the best quality care with respect, and the dignity of the residents held upmost. We have a policy and plan for continuous quality improvement.

Following is list of the services available for residents of our hostel, called Storm Lodge
Church Service: Chapel for church services is available for all denominations and there are regularly scheduled Anglican services.
Diversional Therapy: Is arranged by our two full-time qualified staff and is available to all residents.
Postal Service: and stamps are available during business hours.
Library: Our in-house library is augmented by access to public libraries as well as tape and large print books for the visually impaired.
Podiatry: is provided by a visiting qualified podiatrist.
Bus:
Our Village bus is available for residents outings which occur frequently, and this is sometimes augmented by a community bus.
Community Room: Storm Lodge has a large modern community room and kiosk for residents activities. There are frequent "special events" with special menus. We also have a conference facility nearby.
Entertainment: There are concerts, singers, players, bingo, shopping trips, picnics, sight seeing tours. Residents can elect to enjoy a very social life, if they wish.
Safety and Security: Our aim is to provide a warm, caring atmosphere that is safe and secure. There are security services and emergency staff call systems. Staff regularly attend training in safety measures, such as fire and evacuation.
Food: We provide three meals and three snacks every day for all our residents. Special diets and likes/dislikes are catered for. There is a quality assurance system in place with our specialist, contracted, caterers. We also cater for soft food, purees etc where needed.
Gardens and Grounds: our extensive and well maintained gardens are enhanced by our large natural lagoon with water birds. There is adequate parking for visitors and friends alike.
Learning: There is  branch of the University of the Third Age that meets at Storm Village and provides a variety of interesting and stimulating courses for residents and other seniors from "outside".
